Dear
Divas:
This weekend we celebrate Father's Day so naturally our theme for this newsletter is Dad.
Dads are part of the parenting team that helps form who we become as
adults. Even when Dads are not part of the equation when we are growing
up, the lack of one is. Many girls look to their fathers as a
role model of what they should look for in a husband, lover, boyfriend,
partner. We identify with our mothers but with our fathers we
have a different bond. For many of us, we were/are their little
girls, whom they cherish and must protect. Please take a moment this
Sunday to think of your Dad if he has passed and remember what he was
to you. If your father is still with you, we hope you honor him this
day. If you never had a father, think of the man who had the most
impact on you as a child whether he was a teacher, a neighbor, or an
uncle. This is the day we thank these men for what they've taught us
and meant to us all these years. It's also a day to thank the father of
your children for all they've done, even if all they did was give you
those children. Without him, you wouldn't have them and we know that
every one of us cherishes our children.
Our Divas have been busy this month with their tributes to Dad in each
column. In addition, we welcome Diva Melda who has taken on our Culture
column and Diva Pepper who comes aboard as our internet surfing guide!
We are happy to have them on the newsletter committee and know you will
enjoy their contributions each month. We still have two open columns
looking for owners, Mother Earth, our column about nature and The
Scoop, our arts and entertainment column. If you would like to write
either one of these columns, please email us. Or if you are interested
in submitting an article for any column at any time, email it to us and
we'll be happy to include it as a guest contribution. Every Diva is
welcome to participate in this newsletter. Your contribution can only
enhance this publication and the enjoyment of all the Divas.
Have a safe and happy Father's Day and we'll see you next month with
our salute to the nation's birthday!
